Ojai Valley White Sage
(Salvia apiana) with its incredibly strong, aromatic resins, is the most highly prized western Sage. It is found in the rugged mountains of the Southwest, perched high in the Canyons of Ojai, CA. Sage is burned ceremonially in healing and purification rituals. With its beautiful, velvety, light purple and green leaf clusters, and enormous silvery flowering stalks, Ojai Valley White Sage fills the air with a harmonious and tranquil scent. The wrapped handle at the base is made from recycled leather adorned with a single acorn (Quercus lobata) gathered from beneath the majestic Oaks of Ojai.
These prized White Sage Bundles are foraged from private lands of wilderness surrounding Ojai and are artistically handcrafted by artist, Aaron Plunkett. He creates his art using natural materials from Mother Nature. Aaron comes from a family of master artisans, musicians and healers who have a great appreciation for natural beauty, botany and the greater outdoors.
A portion of the proceeds from this product will be donated to the Ojai Valley Whale Society, a non-profit Paleo-Anthropological and Cultural Preservationist organization facilitating the conservation of California’s first Family of 25 million-year-old, toothed baleen Fossil Whales, “Wendell, Louie & Annie,” discovered January 19, 2000, in Ojai California, land of the indigenous Chumash. Smudging/ purification—sage ritually burned to give wisdom, clarity, increased spiritual awareness, cleansing and healing. For centuries, multiple cultures around the world considered sage sacred. It is believed that this process creates an atmosphere of protection and security, immortality and longevity. In Native American tradition, this herb was burned for emotional, psychic and spiritual purification. With your intention in mind, light sage stick tip for a few seconds then blow out flame. Let smolder to release scent. Allow smoke to rise and/or move it around spaces, persons, pets. FOCUS ON YOUR PURPOSE.
